" Feelms" about ANGER

1. "Taxi Driver" (Martin Scorsese, 1973).

Synopsis: To overcome the chronic insomnia he has suffered since returning from Vietnam, Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro) works as a night taxi driver in New York. He is an unsociable man who barely has contact with others, spends his days at the movies and enjoys spending time with Betsy (Cybill Shepherd), an attractive blonde who volunteers in a political campaign. But what really obsesses Travis is to see how violence, sordidness and desolation dominate the city. And one day he decides to take action.

Wrath in its purest form. Fabulous cult movie, one of the icons of the cinema of the 70s and one of the best works of Scorsese, which also served to catapult the success of De Niro and to show the world the New York of that time, plagued by delinquency and not very peaceful. Essential "feelm".

2. "The War of the Roses" (Danny de Vito, 1989).

Synopsis: The disintegration of a perfect marriage (Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner), so exemplary that their lives as comfortable as empty are insulting, occurs when the wife, mother and perfect housewife, with an effective and well-rounded German maid who completes the family picture, realizes that she wants something more: to recover her own identity.

Great American black comedy, with shocking situations and formidable interpretations. I watched it when I was a child and I felt quite astonished by the brutal way in which marital disagreements are addressed. In any case, this Anger-dominated "feelm" has its own style, which has influenced subsequent films such as "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

3. "Falling Down" (Joel Schumacher, 1993).

Synopsis: In Los Angeles, during a particularly stressful day because of the heat and traffic collapse, suddenly a normal citizen (Michael Douglas - he seems perfect for this kind of roles -) rebels in a violent and destructive way against everything surrounding him. He is just an ordinary man who struggles to overcome everyday's frustrations and only wants to return home. A police officer (Robert Duvall) will try to end his violence and aggression.

Psychological thriller that perfectly portrays the stress coupled to life in a big city (in a somewhat exaggerated way, of course).

4. "Wild Tales" ("Relatos Salvajes", Damián Szifrón, 2014).

Synopsis: The film consists of six episodes that alternate intrigue, comedy and violence. Their characters will be pushed into the abyss and into the undeniable pleasure of losing control, crossing the thin line separating civilization from barbarism.

Highly recommended Argentine film of international success (was nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language non-English speaking Film in 2014). An exciting roller coaster of runaway feelings and situations at once surrealistic-realistic because, as the slogan reads, "we can all lose control", so ... watch out. We do not know how far we can go in those moments; therefore, it is better to be prudent and take it easy.
